About La Coveta Fuma

Unique Coveta Fuma is an unspoiled, secluded, hidden coastal village, nestled between mountains and the blue Mediterranean Sea. There are a few scattered bars and restaurants, a small supermarket and a post office which opens for a few hours per day and a quaint church offering a service every Sunday.

The stunning coastline of Coveta Fuma is approximately 2.2 miles long, with rocky coves and secluded bays, many front line properties have their own private access. There are two sandy coves, one of which has facilities for daily moorings and 2 beach bar/restaurants built and run by a local Spanish families and a lifeguard in the summer months. Sunday is the only time this beach is busy, as it is very popular with Spanish locals who come with their boats and families for the day.

The next small village is El Campello. El Campello is about 14 kilometres from Alicante. Situated in the heart of the Costa Blanca, it has 23 kilometres of coastline with beautiful beaches offering a landscape of contrasts. Along with broad, sandy beaches such as Muchavista, there are also cliffs and small coves, such as those of La Coveta Fuma or La Venta La Nuza. Its crystal clear waters and excellent year-round weather make this an ideal place for water sports such as sailing, scuba diving and windsurfing. In fact, El Campello has a Marina and a Sailing Club. There are also plenty of golf clubs with the famous Bonalba just a few kilometres away.

Next to the harbour is a 500 year old look-out tower used against invading pirates. Below this tower on a small rocky point called La Isleta are archaeological remains that date from 3000 years BC through the Bronze and Roman ages. Pottery found here from Islamic residents of the 11th century, is displayed in the museum in Alicante.

Hiking and cycling routes in the surrounding mountains are other activities available here. In one of these mountains you will find the Caves of Canelobre, which houses a spectacular display of stalagmites and stalactites. During Easter week, the Naucotur fair is held here - it focuses on sailing, trade and tourism. It is also well worth going to the fish auction held every afternoon of the year, Monday-Friday, at the Market on the Port. There are also plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs along the promenade to keep you entertained.
